This full-time position focuses on helping students develop essential navigation skills to succeed both academically and in daily life within the school setting. As a valued professional, your guidance empowers students with visual impairments to travel safely and independently. Anticipate an exciting opportunity—district budget approval is expected by 6/8, with interviews likely to be scheduled the following week. Placement is on-site for the duration of the academic year, from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, working 37.5 hours weekly.
Qualifications:
Current national certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist Vision Certification required Previous experience in school settings highly preferred, but those without will also be considered Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment Able to fulfill district-specific onboarding and background clearance steps Willingness to serve multiple school sites based on district needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments Develop age-appropriate instructional plans fostering safety and independence Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student development Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as needed Adjust services and schedules as caseloads or assignments evolve Start making a meaningful difference in students' lives this school year.
