POSITION SUMMARY
As an Occupational Therapist (OTR), you will help to ensure that REHAB patients and their families receive caring and dedicated service at REHAB. You will provide support for the Therapy Department and assist with a variety of services with a commitment to delivering high-quality, comprehensive and innovative inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. These services include interpreting physician's orders, performing evaluations and assessments; designing and implementing plans of care; maintaining treatment and progress reports; drafting and/or presenting oral or written reports of patient's status; collaborating with team members toward reaching patient's goals.
Starting Wage:
$41.34/hour The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Licensure:
Current State of Hawaii OT licensure. Current NBCOT certification as an OTR. Current BLS certification Completion of competencies and other job-related and REHAB requirements.
Education:
Graduate from an ACOTE accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
Skills/Experience:
Ability to safely and effectively manage patients' mobility. Ability to clearly communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to safely provide care to patients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Experience:
For Inpatient:
One (1) year physical rehabilitation experience.
For Outpatient:
Minimum two (2) years physical rehabilitation experience.
For Hand Clinic:
One (1) year experience in hand rehabilitation, participation in at least one (1) splinting workshop which includes dynamic splinting principles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Evaluates patient for therapy services. Develops, implements and modifies individualized treatment plans and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and continuous care. Delegates treatment activities to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), Rehabilitation Technicians and other support staff as appropriate. Provides instruction and monitors staff's performance of activities. Documents timely and appropriately, in compliance with regulatory, third party payor and REHAB standards, and monitors COTA documentation on a timely basis. Actively involves patient/caregiver in assuring that mutual discharge goals are met. Recommends home modification and durable medical equipment (DME) needs, as appropriate. Completes prescription and assures receipt of appropriate DME/adaptive aids. Orients and trains patients/caregivers for self care skills. Follows and enforces Infection Control policies and procedures. Uses sound judgment and ensures patient safety. Follows and adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and guidelines, code of conduct, and REHAB employee handbook. Performs other duties as assigned.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS USED
Office equipment, including telephone, computer and multifunction devices (MFDs). Google's G Suite, report writer and database software. May include physical, occupational or speech language pathology devices, such as exercise tables, stationary bicycles, walkers, wheelchairs, practice stairs, parallel bars, pulley and weights, , splinting devices, and other equipment and apparatus.
