Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PRN Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives across diverse settings. This flexible role offers the opportunity to provide specialized occupational therapy services tailored to individual needs, promoting independence and improving quality of life. Whether working in inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments, you will be an essential part of a compassionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Your skills in assessing and developing personalized care plans will help clients of all ages and backgrounds achieve their goals. Duties Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' functional abilities, focusing on activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and sensory processing. Develop and implement customized treatment plans aimed at enhancing independence, motor skills, and cognitive functioning. Assist patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to support their daily routines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and ensure seamless transitions across care settings. Work with individuals with autism, disabilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, and those recovering from acute or post-acute conditions in various environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health. Provide education to patients and families about therapy techniques, adaptive equipment use, and strategies for ongoing care management. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, care plans, and case management activities in compliance with regulatory standards. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and functional assessment techniques. Experience assisting with ADLs and developing effective discharge plans for diverse populations. Proven ability to work with individuals with autism, disabilities, geriatrics, pediatrics, and those in acute or post-acute care settings. Skilled in case management and creating tailored care plans that promote patient independence. Familiarity with inpatient hospital environments such as ICU or skilled nursing facilities; outpatient clinics; school-based programs; home health; and outpatient therapy settings. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, patients, families, and educational staff. Ability to adapt therapy approaches based on patient needs while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
