We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist for a school-based position for the 2026-2027 school year. Key Responsibilities Evaluation & Intervention Conduct comprehensive school-based evaluations, re-evaluations, and functional assessments Develop goals, objectives, and individualized intervention plans Provide direct therapy services within educational environments Adapt materials, equipment, and environments to support student access and performance Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data and team input Collaboration & Consultation Collaborate with educators and teams to integrate strategies into daily routines Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and accommodations Provide consultation to staff and families on positioning, regulation, and accessibility Recommend assistive technology to support writing, access, and daily living skills Deliver training and in-services to staff and district partners Professional Responsibilities Manage a caseload of students ages 3-22 across multiple school sites Maintain accurate documentation (evaluations, progress reports, service logs) Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and clinical interns as assigned Collaborate with colleagues and families to support student success Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice Requirements Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy Current Illinois OT license (IDFPR) NBCOT certification Ability to travel between school sites Ability to work with students ages 3-22 Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of pediatric and school-based occupational therapy practices Ability to conduct evaluations and develop educationally relevant interventions Effective communication and collaboration skills Experience with assistive technology and adaptive strategies Ability to manage a diverse caseload across multiple settings Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to lift and position students (up to 50 lbs occasionally) Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and movement throughout the day Use of adaptive and mobility equipment Work across classrooms, therapy spaces, playgrounds, and community settings
