Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as either an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a respected special education environment near Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time assignment for the 2026-2027 school year provides the chance to work directly with K-12 learners of varying abilities, making a meaningful impact in their academic and personal development. With dates tentatively set and new hire orientation from August 12th through 14th, you'll start your journey alongside a team dedicated to innovative student support.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Illinois OT or COTA license required (please submit proof when applying) Experience working in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy settings preferred Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and teachers Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills Comfort working onsite in a special education district with diverse student needs
Core Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services within K-12 classrooms as assigned Participate in IEP development, goal-setting, and progress monitoring for students Assess students' strengths and challenges, offering tailored interventions Consult with educators and caregivers to support optimal student engagement and achievement Maintain accurate records and reporting in accordance with state and district standards Attend meetings, professional development sessions, and orientation as needed This is a fulfilling chance to bring your expertise to a supportive, collaborative learning environment during the 2026-2027 academic year—full-time at 35 hours each week.
