Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-6 students during Extended School Year services from June 1 to June 29. This role offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to tailor your work hours (10-15 hours per week) according to classroom needs, making it ideal for professionals seeking adaptability in their summer commitments. In this position, you will deliver occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 20 elementary students, helping them strengthen the skills necessary for classroom success. Your expertise will support students with a range of needs, providing individualized interventions that foster independence and promote participation in daily school activities.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Illinois Experience providing school-based occupational therapy services preferred Knowledge of IEP development and documentation Ability to adapt therapy approaches to diverse student needs Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, staff, and families Commitment to maintaining compliance with school and state guidelines
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct OT services, as outlined in student IEPs, within elementary grade levels (K-6) Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate therapy into daily routines Maintain accurate records and progress notes Evaluate student needs and recommend appropriate OT interventions Participate in IEP meetings as needed Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students This position empowers you to build meaningful connections with students and colleagues within an engaging school environment during a short, impactful summer session.
