Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract role as an Occupational Therapist, working with students and educators in a supportive educational environment near Murphysboro, Illinois. You'll have the opportunity to use your specialized skills to help students achieve their greatest potential throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Current Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain one prior to the assignment start Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy best practices Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and families Excellent organizational and communication skills Commitment to fostering student independence and participation in the educational environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and evidence-based occupational therapy services to students with varying needs from August 2026 through May 2027 Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized therapy plans in conjunction with IEP teams and other support staff Assess students' functional abilities and provide recommendations for classroom modifications or adaptive equipment Document student progress, maintain compliance with regulations, and participate in meetings as required Consult with teachers and families to support the transfer of skills beyond the therapy setting Support ongoing caseload needs (to be determined and set prior to start) This full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) offers the chance to make a genuine difference in a school setting, contributing positively to student growth and daily success.
