Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Occupational Therapist specializing in school-based services, working primarily with elementary-aged students in both resource and self-contained settings. This contract position, located in Huntley, IL, offers a supportive environment tailored for professional growth and collaboration within a dedicated school setting. Part-time candidates will also be considered. Key responsibilities include providing occupational therapy services to support students' developmental needs, implementing individualized interventions, and collaborating with educators and families to promote student success. You will have access to a same-discipline supervisor for guidance, as well as equipment and testing materials essential for effective therapy delivery.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Illinois certified Occupational Therapist (only OTs will be considered; COTAs are not eligible) Experience working with elementary school-aged students, including both resource and self-contained classrooms Strong commitment to professional development and collaborative practice within a school environment This role offers comprehensive support through: A "Buddy Program" designed to ensure a thorough orientation for new hires Access to ongoing professional development courses focused on school-based occupational therapy Scheduled collaboration opportunities with colleagues, including monthly meetings and roundtable discussions Engagement in process improvements aimed at enhancing service delivery and operational efficiencies Regular 1:1 check-ins and team meetings with leadership to discuss progress and feedback Connection to a regional network of colleagues through an interactive intranet platform resembling social media Work schedule includes 37.5 hours per week, with the contract running as soon as possible through May 29, 2026, with the potential for extension.
