Job Description
Category Therapy - Hospital - OT Job Type Travel This travel opportunity is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide home health therapy services focused on orthopedic and deconditioned patients in Macomb, IL, and surrounding areas. The role offers a unique blend of in-home patient care and remote documentation, making it ideal for therapists who excel in organization and autonomous work. Responsibilities include conducting 4-5 patient visits daily, coaching patients on essential life skills such as bathing, cooking, and dressing to promote independence and maintain their ability to remain at home. The caseload may also involve working with pediatric patients, with no age discrimination, and managing chronic swelling through lymphedema treatment is a valuable skill. The position requires collaboration with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to perform supervisory visit documentation as needed. This role operates on a schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, averaging 72 hours per pay period, with reimbursement for mileage at .725 per mile to cover the extensive travel between patient homes. Daily use of web-based EMR systems, iPads for documentation, remote scheduling, and virtual meetings are integral to the workflow.
