Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling opportunity supporting K-6 students as an Occupational Therapist this summer. This contract position is designed for Extended School Year (ESY) services, running from June 1 through June 29, with an ideal commitment of 10-15 flexible hours per week. With a manageable caseload of approximately 20 elementary students, you'll foster growth and independence through tailored, school-based OT interventions. This role stands out for its autonomy—you'll have the ability to craft your work schedule in harmony with classroom activities, allowing you to dedicate your focused expertise where it's needed most. Collaborate closely with educators and support staff as you design and implement therapy that makes a meaningful impact during the ESY program.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Licensed Occupational Therapist in Illinois Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy Strong understanding of IEPs, documentation, and student goal planning Comfortable working with K-6 populations, especially in group and individual settings Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Adaptability to flexible, self-directed scheduling in a dynamic school environment
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct OT services for students in K-6 ESY programming (approx. 20 students) Assess and address diverse needs to support functional independence and participation Develop and deliver intervention plans aligned with students' goals and classroom schedules Consult and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to maximize outcomes Track progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust strategies as needed Experience the satisfaction of making a difference during a pivotal time in students' academic journeys.
