Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students' development and independence in a welcoming school environment near Plainfield, IL. This assignment covers a fall 2026 leave, running from August 14 to October 30, as part of the occupational therapy team working with both Early Childhood (ages 3-5) and elementary students (K-5) across two nearby school buildings. Ideal candidates bring experience in school-based occupational therapy, but Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) with appropriate supervision will also be considered. Expect a varied caseload, estimated at 8,000-9,500 minutes per quarter, working a 7-hour day—allowing for genuine impact while maintaining work-life balance.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing occupational therapy services in alignment with student IEPs Implementing and supporting accommodations from 504 plans Collaborating closely with educators, support staff, and families Conducting evaluations and preparing thorough student reports Participating in team meetings to ensure cohesive support Monitoring, documenting, and communicating student progress Preferred qualifications and experience: Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Illinois Experience working in school settings with diverse student populations Strong collaborative and communication skills Ability to travel between two nearby campuses (less than 10 minutes apart) Familiarity with IEP and 504 plan implementation Benefit from a supportive professional community and the chance to positively shape students' academic and functional success.
