Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time Occupational Therapist role is available in Plainfield, IL, supporting elementary-aged students in both resource and self-contained classrooms. This contract position offers 37.5 hours per week, with part-time candidates also considered. The assignment is expected to start ASAP and tentatively run through May 29, 2026, with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary students, addressing functional, sensory, and motor challenges within school settings Utilize specialized equipment and testing materials to evaluate and treat students effectively Collaborate with educators and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Participate in monthly meetings, roundtable discussions, and professional development opportunities to enhance school-based intervention skills Engage in ongoing performance reviews and process improvement initiatives aimed at delivering best practice services Maintain consistent communication with supervisors and colleagues through regular 1:1 check-ins, team meetings, and a regional intranet platform designed for professional collaboration
Desired Qualifications:
Current Illinois licensure as an Occupational Therapist; COTA candidates will not be considered Experience working with elementary-aged children in school-based settings preferred Ability to support both resource and self-contained student populations Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a commitment to professional growth
