INTRINSIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide screenings, evaluations, and other occupational therapy services to children for the purpose of rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health promotion. Participate in activities and training to promote and attain regulatory compliance at the local, state and federal level.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
Evaluate children and develop a plan of care with associated goals including quantifiable physical and functional targets Provide assessments, treatments, instructions and other occupational therapy services according to the scope of practice limitations per Indiana statute. Maintain timely, thorough, and confidential documentation of initial evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress notes, and discharge notes. Educate families/caregivers and promote follow through of home exercise programs to assist children in achieving their functional goals. Refer families/caregivers to other community resources as needed. Participate in conferences, training, and continuing education to further improve clinical skills. Collaborate with therapy team and attend team meetings. Retain the responsibility for all delegated tasks to other licensees and support personnel and ensure proper and adequate supervision of them.
Supervise student fieldwork experiences including:
provision of services, record keeping, and other assigned duties. Assist with and/or carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of the clinics physical plant, patient care equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory standards and EHS policies and procedures. Comply with the Facilitys Comprehensive Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct as well as all facility policies and procedures and educational requirements. Comply with all local, state and federal regulations training and instruction requirements as well as any other standards that govern healthcare services provision. Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants including: evaluations, re-evaluations, progress notes as needed, direct observation, supervision of skills, and ongoing collaboration of care for clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
A graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program approved by the Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. A person licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in Indiana. Pediatric experience preferred. Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. A person who can meet the physical and mental demand level of the position.
PHYSICAL DEMAND CAPACITY
Consistent with published industry PDC norms or minimally: Requires the manual dexterity and general strength and endurance Liftingroutinely loads of 5-35 pounds from Floor to waist Waist to shoulder Shoulder to overhead Carryingroutinely loads of 5-10# for 40-50 Pushing
  • -routinely loads of 5-150# on casters, runners or pulleys Sustaining a grip
  • -routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50# Guarding a lift load routinely of 120-140# Sitting
  • -routinely for uninterrupted periods of 30-45 minutes
EXPOSURE DETERMINATION
Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure due to work duties Has the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure due to work duties
