School Administration / Special Education Coordinator Position Overview Audubon Baton Rouge is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to provide specialized, school-based therapy services to students in grades K-6 requiring occupational therapy according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This part-time or contract position is vital in supporting the developmental and functional needs of students to enhance their academic success and daily school activities. Key Responsibilities Deliver occupational therapy services as outlined in each student's IEP, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory integration, motor planning, and functional independence. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies within the school environment. Assess student progress regularly and adjust therapy plans accordingly to meet educational goals. Maintain accurate and timely documentation consistent with Audubon Baton Rouge's policies, including service logs, progress notes, and all required paperwork for compliance. Participate in IEP meetings as required, providing professional input on students' therapy goals and progress. Adhere strictly to Audubon's policies and procedures related to tracking services and documentation requirements. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws and school regulations. Qualifications Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Louisiana. Experience working in a pediatric or school-based setting preferred. Strong understanding of IEP processes and educational therapy goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with school teams and families. Ability to work independently while following organizational policies and protocols. Employment Terms Part-time or contract position with flexible hours during the school year. Current estimated hours are up to 10 per week, but may increase depending on caseload and enrollment. Competitive hourly rate (starting at $50/hour) or contract compensation based on experience.
