Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our small, family owned mobile healthcare team . The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting our Lead Occupational Therapist in providing high-quality evaluations, POC creation, and patient care. This position involves mobile, home health, and in clinic work with a pediatric patient population in home and daycare settings as well as an ABA Clinic , to help children achieve their developmental goals through therapeutic interventions. You will be working with children ages 0-18 years old in Lafayette Parish. We currently have about 20 hours of treatment sessions we would be willing to assign you after training and there is opportunity to build more if you would like to. Per LSBME guidelines candidates
MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
to work in the home health setting in Louisiana. Responsibilities Perform standardized evaluations and clinical observations. Creating Plan of Care for patients. Implementing individualized treatment plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, ensuring safety and comfort during therapy sessions. Support patients in performing daily activities to enhance their independence and quality of life. Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with medical standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans as needed. Educate patients and their families about treatment goals and home health strategies. Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with the healthcare team. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy. Requirements Must have at least 2 years of experience as an OTR/L (does not have to be in the home health setting)
Education :
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT) or a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD)
Certification :
Certification as an Occupational Therapist through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Licensure :
Current Louisiana licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist Reliable transportation. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology related to occupational therapy. Experience working in various settings such as clinics, home health, or inpatient facilities is preferred. Ability to assist with the development of care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and team members. A compassionate approach towards patient care, particularly with pediatric populations.
