Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make an impact as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working part-time with early childhood students. This contract opportunity serves children ages 3-4 as part of an Early Interventionist Team, helping to set a strong foundation for their future learning and development. The assignment runs from August 2026 through May 2027, with a schedule of roughly 4 hours per day, 4 days a week—2 days in the North and 2 days in the South of the district.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid Louisiana OT or COTA license (required) Previous experience or strong interest in pediatric or early intervention occupational therapy Ability to travel between assigned sites within the district as needed Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and fellow therapists Flexibility, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to children ages 3-4 in compliance with school-based programs Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress for each student served Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students' individual needs If applying as a COTA, participate in supervision arrangements as required Provide direct instruction, modify activities, and assist with interventions to improve fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills
