This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist with deep expertise in treating hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow conditions. Work alongside world-class Hand Surgeons in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. About the Position The Senior Hand Therapist is a seasoned clinician (minimum 4 years' experience) who can operate independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This role includes direct patient care as well as additional clinical and departmental responsibilities. You will treat a diverse caseload of upper-extremity injuries and conditions, collaborate closely with Hand Surgeons, and act as a resource to peers, students, and support staff. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop targeted treatment plans focused on maximizing function. Demonstrate advanced competency in outpatient hand therapy for adults (ages 18-85). Triage walk-in consults and prioritize patient flow in a busy clinic environment. Serve as a clinical and/or non-clinical resource for staff. Collaborate with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in departmental initiatives such as: Staff orientation Quality improvement activities Development and revision of practice standards Student and aide supervision Monitor referrals, discharges, and clinic trends; escalate issues when necessary. Assist with equipment management and recommendations for new tools/technology. Take part in departmental meetings, policy development, and program planning. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Occupational Therapy or Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred.
Licensure:
Current, unrestricted MA license in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Graduate of an accredited OT or PT program. Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of clinical experience with demonstrated competency in hand therapy.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and act as a leader/resource. Ability to work independently and manage a busy patient schedule. Ability to meet the physical demands of outpatient care (standing, lifting, positioning patients/equipment). Proven ability to assess and treat the needs of an adult population.
