The position is full time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, but we will consider applicants seeking part time or temporary assignments. Position requires current MA OT/R certification and CT DPH certification as an Occupational Therapist, and a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy; Masters degree strongly preferred. Services to be provided include individual and group sessions, assessments and classroom consultations in our Holyoke and Chicopee, MA locations, as well as Enfield and East Hartford, CT locations. The position is full time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, but we will consider applicants seeking part time or temporary assignments. Competitive salary (range $72k to $78k per year) commensurate with experience. Collaborates with Teachers and other allied health staff to provide comprehensive and appropriate services to students.
Writes IEPs in conjunction with Teachers and attends IEP meetings as required.
Develops, implements and manages occupational therapy curriculum and assessment materials. Develops treatment protocols and administers occupational therapy assessments, including the schools swimming pool as a therapeutic environment, to students and prepares corresponding reports, as needed.
Prepares updates and reports for presentation at district team meetings and attends team meetings as requested. Oversees the schools Sensory Rooms and Sensory Diets. Assists the floor in the mornings with student ADL skills, modeling for staff best practice in supporting students OT, ADL and transition goals. Plans and provides training for school staff as needed or requested.
Adheres to professional licensure standards and national certification standards while upholding the school model of treatment.
Supervises college interns as assigned.
Maintains professional licensure and participates in conferences, workshops or other courses for professional development.
