Occupational Therapist (Part-Time) Walker/Beacon High School - 3.3 Watertown, MA Job Details Part-time 8 hours ago Qualifications Working with individuals with disabilities Working with children Bachelor's degree Working with students OTR Working with individuals with mental health conditions Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy Mental health occupational therapy Occupational Therapy License Full Job Description Summary of position: The Occupational Therapist will provide direct therapy services to students with OT development impairments, consultation to teachers, parents and other professionals, and diagnostic services.
Education and LicensureRequired:
Bachelor's degree in
Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy Certification ExperienceRequired:
Experience working with children with mental health, emotional, and learning disabilities
Preferred:
1 year experience Essential functions: 1.Provide focused Occupational Therapy interventions to students in 1:1 settings and/or small groups.2.Consult with teachers on OT needs of students with sensory needs and on ways of leading groups.3.Consult with parents directly and through clinical staff on OT difficulties of individual students.4.Provide in-service education to teachers, clinicians and milieu counselors on occupational therapy difficulties, diagnostics, and remediation.5.Conduct annual pre-testing and post-testing in OT development for students who have OT services on their IEP.8.Screen intake/admission materials to determine OT and sensory needs of incoming students.9.Provide formal and informal Occupational Therapy diagnostic assessment as requested and approved by LEAs and parent(s).10.Document client performance; write timely progress notes for Quarterly Progress reports.11.Organize, monitor and maintain occupational therapy materials and testing supplies.12.Write full assessment reports/sensory profile based on diagnostic results.13.Attend TEAM meetings, IEP meetings, and Clinical Conferences as needed.14.Supervise Occupational Therapy assistants/interns as directed by the Principal; support assistant/intern in determining schedule, preparing materials/activities/lessons, monitoring progress of students).15.Provide additional coverage to the school program as needed.16.Participate fully in in-service training programs and staff meetings.17.All other duties, as assigned
