POSITION SUMMARY
The person who holds this position will provide occupational therapy services to children, birth-4 years old, and provide coaching/training to their families in accordance with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). Collaborate with families and other providers to develop and implement IFSPs. Conduct evaluations of infants and toddlers to drive decision-making. Serve as a service coordinator or primary service provider and manage the IFSP process for infants/toddlers and their families.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
At the time of application, the candidate must hold or be eligible for: A Maryland License in Occupational Therapy.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
(These are knowledge, abilities and skills that apply to the Essential Job Functions.) At the time of application, the candidate must have: Knowledge of physical disabilities and sensory processing deficits and appropriate therapy strategies. Demonstrated diagnostic skills in the area of fine motor and physical development. Knowledge of and ability to administer fine motor assessments. Knowledge of and ability to administer sensory processing assessments. Ability to write evaluation reports, IFSPs, and IEPs. Knowledge and experience with the IFSP and the IEP processes. Knowledge of the Medicaid billing process. Knowledge of educational and psychological assessments. Knowledge and experience with appropriate developmental milestones and of the general education curriculum and early learning standards. Knowledge of disabilities and accommodations/supports to access the general education curriculum. Knowledge of and experience working with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Demonstrated interpersonal skills when working with diverse groups (parents, other professionals, students, teachers, administrators, community agency representatives). Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication. Demonstrates initiative, self-regulation, and management of scheduling, monitoring and adhering to established timelines. Maintains good organizational skills and professional attitude. Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to those responsibilities listed below. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calvert County Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Provide specialized instruction to children, birth-4 years old, and provide coaching/training to their families in accordance with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). Provide services to children on an individual basis in the natural environment, in small group settings in the community or classroom setting. Facilitate intakes and process referrals to the Infants and Toddlers Program as needed. Serve as an interim service coordinator for initial IFSP meetings as needed. Serve as a service coordinator and manage the IFSP process for infants/toddlers and their families. Provide consultation, coaching and training services to families and caregivers. Administer educational assessments to children and write evaluation reports based on assessment results. Attend/facilitate Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP)/Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and complete required documentation. Develop and write IFSPs and IEPs. Maintain data and provide progress reports. Complete Medicaid billing forms and Medicaid documentation for direct services and case management services. Participate in parent conferences and team meetings. Collaborate with families, providers, outside agencies and other Calvert County Public Schools staff regarding
IFSP/IEP
development and implementation. Administers fine motor assessments and sensory processing profiles to students. Writes evaluation reports based on assessment results within given timelines and write evaluation reports. Thinks, concentrates, and interacts positively with others. Comes to work promptly every day. Works flexible hours as necessary. Works under stress and meets all deadlines. Travels from school to school and to homes, daycares and other locations as necessary.
OTHER JOB DUTIES
(Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.) Performs related work as required or assigned by the Director/Supervisor of Special Education. May be subject to flexible hours. Work as required throughout the summer in order to ensure the continuous provision of services in accordance with IFSPs.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION
Current Maryland Licensure in Occupational Therapy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires significant periods of standing and walking and is performed in a typical school environment. Employees are required to think, concentrate, and interact with others. Employees are expected to come to work regularly and promptly. Employees must be able to work under stress and meet all deadlines.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Eleven (11) month position and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current Calvert County Public Schools' salary schedule for teachers. All employees are encouraged to have automatic payroll deposit.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.
