Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to provide maternity leave coverage for our district from April through the end of the 2025/26 school year . This is a critical role supporting a well-organized caseload of approximately 40 students across elementary and high school programs. The successful candidate will focus heavily on specialized populations, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Early Childhood programs. Caseload & Building Assignments The OT will provide coverage across three primary sites: S upport for Special Education students, the Level 3 ASD program, and the Early Learning Center (PreK/GSRP, ages 3-4). Support for Special Education students, the Level 3 ASD program, and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) PM sessions. Primary focus on self-contained Cognitive Impairment (CI) and ASD programs.
Note:
Occasional collaboration with the staff OT for Gifted and Talented or non-public school evaluations.
Key Responsibilities Service Delivery:
Provide high-quality direct and consultative OT services as outlined in student IEPs.
Compliance:
Write and update IEPs, maintain detailed progress monitoring, and complete MET reports.
Evaluations:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine student needs and eligibility.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the district's other OT, teachers, and families to support students in high-acuity programs (Level 3 ASD/CI).
Qualifications Licensure:
Active Michigan Occupational Therapist License.
Experience:
School-based experience is highly preferred.
Specialized Knowledge:
Familiarity with ASD populations, Early Childhood Special Education, and self-contained CI programs.
Skills:
Proficiency in writing IEPs/METs and managing a multi-building schedule. #p34
