Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A rewarding contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to support students across multiple school sites in Fruitport, MI. This full-time position involves working in educational settings, delivering specialized OT services to a diverse caseload in both elementary and middle school environments.
Responsibilities include:
Providing occupational therapy evaluations and interventions tailored to students primarily with moderate cognitive impairments and Autism, spanning preschool to 8th grade. Supporting students in Regional Moderate Cognitive Impairment programs as well as Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) groups. Implementing individualized treatment plans within resource rooms and classroom settings. Collaborating closely with teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote student progress and functional outcomes. Managing documentation and Medicaid billing efficiently through EdPlan software.
Qualifications and desired experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist licensure and credentials appropriate for school-based practice. Experience working with pediatric populations, especially students with cognitive impairments and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Proficiency with clinical documentation and billing systems is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills to integrate services within a multidisciplinary educational team.
Schedule and Location:
Full-time hours from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday. This contract covers classrooms at two school districts in the Fruitport, MI area. Travel reimbursement is provided for mileage accrued between school sites. This position includes comprehensive orientation and software training to support a smooth start.
