Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a contract Occupational Therapist for an extended school year (ESY) opportunity near Romulus, MI. This role focuses on delivering essential OT services to a diverse caseload of elementary, middle, and high school students—ensuring continuity of care and progress towards each student's goals during the summer session. This assignment begins in the third week of June and involves working with approximately 21 to 25 students—comprising 11 elementary, 7 middle school, and 2 high school students. Enjoy the unique flexibility of scheduling your hours based on student and parent availability.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Michigan Experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy strongly preferred Knowledge of IEP processes and effective documentation standards Ability to collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams Compassionate, flexible, and responsive to diverse student needs Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide skilled, individualized OT services for ESY students across elementary, middle, and high school levels Assess, develop, and implement IEP-directed interventions to promote student participation, independence, and academic success Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to coordinate therapy schedules and ensure comprehensive support Adapt sessions to accommodate fluctuating attendance and parent schedules Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
