Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives by applying your expertise as an Occupational Therapist in an educational setting. This contract opportunity runs from August through June 2026, offering a rewarding schedule of 20-25 hours per week. Located in a welcoming community near Ypsilanti, MI, you'll join a dedicated team supporting students as they learn, grow, and thrive.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current, active OT license in the state of Michigan (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric healthcare environment strongly preferred Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to create comprehensive care plans Strong knowledge of educational therapy standards and practices Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Comfortable adapting to the unique needs of children and adolescents
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with a variety of learning and developmental needs Conduct assessments and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Collaborate with educational staff and families to ensure consistent therapy interventions aligned with classroom activities Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and regulatory standards Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing evaluation of therapy programs Coach teachers and support staff on accommodations, modifications, and strategies to facilitate student success You'll enjoy the flexibility of a part-time schedule over the academic year, with supportive colleagues and plenty of opportunities for professional growth.
