School Occupational Therapist

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available to support students in an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program at a school location in Ypsilanti, MI. This contract role focuses on delivering specialized occupational therapy services within an educational setting, aiming to enhance student development and participation.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services tailored to students with ASD. Collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized intervention plans. Conduct assessments to evaluate students' functional abilities and needs. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including teletherapy as needed, to support student progress. Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with school and regulatory standards. Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing program development.

Qualifications:

Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings. Prior experience working with ASD populations is highly preferred. Ability to deliver services in diverse environments, including healthcare, home health, and teletherapy. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of current best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and educational interventions. Capability to develop and adapt therapy plans that support educational goals.
