Position Purpose Identify, assess, and provide treatment for children with sensory processing, fine and gross motor, visual-motor integration, self-regulation, and activities of daily living (ADL) deficits. Consult with behavior therapy teams to ensure appropriate integration of occupational therapy programs and strategies into the broader treatment plan, and provide training to clinical staff on motor development, sensory integration, self-regulation, and functional skill deficits. Train caregivers and other service providers within clients' environments and communities to promote consistency and generalization of functional skills across home, clinic, school, and community settings. Coordinate with outside Occupational Therapists as needed, and work with clinical staff to ensure quality in the design and implementation of each child's occupational therapy program. This role includes attending monthly meetings with program coordinators and/or leadership. The Occupational Therapist will develop and implement individualized, evidence-based Plans of Care for assigned clients, and assist with Prior Authorization information to secure funding for each client's occupational therapy services. Major Responsibilities Establish and continually evaluate treatment programs, plans of care, goals, and discharge plans for assigned clients in consultation with the Program Supervisor Revise plans and goals based on individual client needs in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor Administer standardized occupational therapy evaluations, including sensory processing, fine motor, visual-motor, and ADL assessments Respond to referrals for service in a timely manner Integrate occupational therapy targets and activities into the behavior therapy setting for both direct and indirect caseload clients Conduct 30-day and 90-day reviews for all clients, with an updated Plan of Care included in the 90-day review Complete and submit required documentation within established guidelines, maintaining current and accurate clinical records Provide leadership and training on therapy strategies to Behavior Therapists, Lead Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, and Program Managers Participate in ITP planning as applicable Design, oversee, and/or execute skilled treatment programs (e.g., sensory diets, fine motor protocols, self-regulation strategies, ADL training, visual-motor and handwriting programs) as prescribed by the Plan of Care Recommend and train staff on the appropriate use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology Schedule clients in coordination with the clinical team Provide client and family education related to support services Meet with the clinical team to discuss each client's progress on occupational therapy programming Adhere to the AOTA Code of Ethics and maintain Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice licensure and NBCOT certification Complete necessary continuing education Respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours Attend all required trainings and meetings at the central office site Appropriately use the time-reporting system for reimbursement Consider ethical and cultural issues and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients, caregivers, colleagues, and student interns Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program A current Minnesota Board of Occupational Therapy Practice license, or in the process of obtaining one NBCOT certification (Registered Occupational Therapist, OTR) — new graduates are encouraged to apply, with supervision and mentorship available Prior autism and pediatric experience preferred Skills Strong interpersonal skills and highly developed verbal and written communication Ability to collaborate with all members of the clinical and administrative teams to ensure the best therapeutic programming for clients Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and use of a vehicle to travel to worksites and the office Ability to pass all criminal background checks required by the State of Minnesota to work with children and vulnerable adults Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Ability to communicate professionally and relay information in a timely manner How to Apply Apply directly through this posting.
