Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on an impactful assignment as a long-term substitute Occupational Therapist supporting elementary students' growth and independence. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 24, 2026, and continues through February 28, 2027, providing consistent service in a dynamic, supportive school environment. You'll collaborate closely with special education staff, classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to help students flourish and access their education to the fullest. Your expertise will guide both direct service and consultative support, as well as help shape individualized plans that empower learners with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify each student's abilities and challenges Design and implement customized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed Work in partnership with educators, administrators, and families to support student achievement Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulations Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings Provide guidance on Assistive Technology, including evaluation and training Promote student access to curriculum and the school environment through targeted intervention
Desired Qualifications:
Current Occupational Therapy license valid in Minnesota Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Previous experience in a school setting is preferred Demonstrated ability to work with children and students with disabilities Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and organization Knowledge of Assistive Technology tools is a plus Comfortable operating as part of a multidisciplinary educational team This assignment aligns with the school calendar and offers a chance to make a difference while working with a dedicated, collaborative staff.
