Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting elementary students through a long-term substitute assignment as a school-based Occupational Therapist. In this full-time position, you'll foster collaboration and develop meaningful interventions, guiding children to increased independence and educational success. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, to February 28, 2027, following the regular school calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations, both formal and informal, to determine student needs Develop and implement individualized therapeutic plans aligned with each student's IEP goals Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services within the school environment Monitor progress and make data-driven adjustments to interventions Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize student outcomes Maintain detailed and compliant documentation of therapy services and student progress Participate actively in IEP, parent, and multidisciplinary team meetings Provide leadership and guidance in Assistive Technology evaluations, recommendations, and ongoing support Empower student access to the curriculum and school activities via targeted therapeutic strategies Contribute to a positive and inclusive educational experience by supporting students' varied needs
Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapy license in Minnesota (Board of Occupational Therapy Practice) Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Experience working with children or students with disabilities Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities School-based occupational therapy background is preferred Familiarity with IEP processes and Assistive Technology is a bonus Collaborative spirit and readiness to support students of diverse backgrounds and needs If you are passionate about empowering young learners and enjoy a collaborative work environment, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference during a vital stage of students' education.
