Job Description

Seedling Pediatric Therapies of Kansas City is looking for a passionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. This is a unique full-time role that blends the best of all worlds: you'll provide on-site support in local preschools and charter schools. This role will be located at Operation Breakthrough, a nonprofit serving youth in Kansas City, MO. You won't just be treating; you'll be collaborating with teachers and parents to create lasting change. Our Mission Seedling Pediatric Therapies believes all children and families deserve access to quality therapy services. We aim to increase accessibility by partnering with local preschools, charter schools, and private schools to accelerate skill development by working with the child in their daily environment. We not only treat the child but also communicate weekly with teachers and parents to have a holistic, team-based approach toward their child's progress. We are a community-based medical practice which allows for more flexibility in treatment planning. See our website for current partnership locations.
What You'll Do On-Site School Support:
Travel to partner preschools, charter schools, and private schools to provide push-in or pull-out services.
Collaborative Consultation:
Act as a bridge between education, home, and therapy by coaching parents and teachers on home and classroom strategies to optimize their child's engagement and independence with their daily routine.
Individualized Care:
Develop creative, play-based treatment plans that address fine motor, visual-motor, executive functioning, sensory processing, and self-regulation goals.
Advocacy:
Participate in IEP/504 meetings (where applicable) and provide families with actionable home programs.
What We're Looking For Education:
Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure:
Current Kansas and Missouri OT License and NBCOT certification.
Experience:
1-2 years of pediatric experience is preferred. This candidate should be organized enough to manage a mobile schedule and flexible enough to pivot when a preschooler needs some extra support.
Mobility:
Reliable transportation is a must for traveling between school sites and the clinic as needed. Why Join Us?
Autonomy:
Manage your own caseload with a flexible, independent schedule.
Growth:
We offer CEU reimbursement and weekly mentoring. We are a new community-based practice with continued partnerships forming.
Work-Life Balance:
We pride ourselves on a 32-hour work week for full time therapists. Work hours are between 8:30-4:00 pm. You have the flexibility to set your schedule to suit you and your caseload. This position is year round as services continue into the summer.
Competitive Pay:
We believe therapists are highly skilled and should be valued for all you bring into your sessions as well as your time spent in meetings with parents and teachers. We offer salaried positions based on anticipated hours worked. Starting pay is $55 per billable hour.
Benefits:
401k matching, health reimbursement account, CEU reimbursement, and a driving stipend.
