JOB SUMMARY

The Occupational Therapist at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in patient care and rehabilitation. They evaluate and establish treatment plans, ensuring competency in a range of areas such as therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and cognitive skills. • JOB•FUNCTIONS•| |•|

Supervisory:

• Delegates authority to COTAs and technicians.
• Provides supervisory visits according to state regulations.

Budget:

• Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies.
• Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment and equipment.

Clinical:

• Maintains productivity level at department target.
• Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Occupational Therapy. Remains competent in the following areas:
• Evaluation.
• Therapeutic Exercise/Activity.
• ADL training.
• Cognitive skills.
• Wheelchair transfers.
• Splinting.
• Modalities as appropriate for OT.
• Attends and provides continuing education inservices.
• Serves as mentor for new employees.
• Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician.
• Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner.

Other:

• Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes.
