As an Occupational Therapist here, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on patients who may otherwise have limited access to specialty services. A typical day may include evaluating and treating adult and geriatric patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, illness, or injury; working with patients to improve ADLs, functional mobility, and home safety; and collaborating with providers and nursing staff on discharge planning and care coordination. Depending on facility needs, you may also see occasional pediatric or outpatient patients requiring developmental, school-related, or upper extremity interventions. The setting may include a mix of inpatient beds, swing beds, and outpatient appointments, offering you broad clinical exposure and the chance to maintain and grow a wide range of skills.
