In this vital role, you will assess students' needs, develop personalized intervention plans, and collaborate with educators, parents, and other ancillary providers to support each child's unique development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives through specialized therapy services. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities to identify areas for intervention Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals and student needs Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and fine motor tasks, to promote independence Collaborate closely with teachers, speech therapists, social workers, physical therapists, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders to coordinate care plans and ensure consistency across environments Prepare transition strategies for students moving between programs or settings Work with students with disabilities to improve sensory integration, motor coordination, and adaptive skills Write IEP goals, document progress regularly, and adjust therapy approaches based on student response and evolving needs Requirements Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist with eligibility to practice in the school setting Experience working with children in educational environments Knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and therapy techniques specific to school-aged children Familiarity with assistive devices and adaptive equipment used in schools Familiarity with developing a sensory diet for students Strong understanding of care plans, case management principles, and interdisciplinary collaboration Experience working with individuals with disabilities across diverse populations including pediatrics and students Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, educators, and healthcare professionals in a clear and compassionate manner
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
