Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Discover an exciting contract opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful impact in educational settings near Albuquerque, NM. This position spans the academic year, starting August 3, 2026, and concluding on May 28, 2027. You'll play a vital role helping students reach their full potential with a consistent weekly schedule—weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, working with both high school (10th-12th grade) and elementary (PreK-6th grade) populations.
Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapy license for NM or eligible for reciprocal licensure Previous experience providing OT services in schools, home health, or healthcare settings Strong understanding of educational OT practices (including IEP documentation and goal setting) Experience supporting diverse student populations, including both older adolescents and younger children Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for working with teachers, families, and support staff Ability to adapt interventions for a wide range of developmental and physical needs
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and develop targeted intervention plans for students at both elementary and high school levels Deliver direct OT services within classroom, therapy room, and potentially home health settings Monitor student progress, maintaining clear documentation and contributing to IEP meetings Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines Foster student independence and engagement in academic and daily living tasks Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and ongoing professional development Experience the rewards of a role that offers a consistent schedule and the chance to shape young lives across different grade levels.
