Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as an Occupational Therapist in a dynamic school environment near Alden, NY. Utilize your expertise to help students achieve their fullest potential and make a direct, positive impact on their educational journey.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist Previous experience working in school settings preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans Knowledge of IEP processes and familiarity with documentation requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine students' occupational therapy needs Develop individualized intervention plans in collaboration with the educational team Deliver therapy sessions tailored to student abilities, focusing on improving functional skills necessary for school success Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to achieve desired outcomes Maintain organized records in accordance with district and legal requirements Provide recommendations for classroom modifications and adaptive equipment as needed Communicate progress and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other service providers Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert input on students' occupational performance
