Key Qualifications and Experience:
Current, valid Occupational Therapist license (New York State) Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy preferred Familiarity with IEP process and documentation requirements Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy goals for students Skilled in adapting activities to meet individual student needs Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to students with a variety of needs, both individually and in group settings Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student success and inclusion Maintain clear and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress Support classroom staff by providing strategies and modifications to facilitate student participation Participate in IEP meetings and effectively communicate findings and recommendations Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current in best practices As a valued contract Occupational Therapist, you will have the rewarding experience of helping students reach their fullest potential in a supportive school environment.
