General Purpose of the Job Responsible for the evaluation and overall provision of Occupational Therapy to individuals in our residential program who need sensorimotor rehabilitation, activities for daily living training, and range of motion. •This is a P/T Independent Contractor position at 2-5 hours per week. The hours are flexible based on the needs of our program. •Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Participates in the treatment of individuals through the use of physical agents; appropriate exercise, stretching, or other generally accepted therapeutic practices. 2. Participates in the assessment of fine motor, perceptual motor, and sensorimotor functions. 3. Determines therapeutic goals and re-evaluates individuals in program. 4. Communicates therapeutic procedures to individuals, parents/advocates, Habilitation Specialists, and other staff members. 5. Maintains current record of individuals' status, therapeutic interventions noted, and progress recommended. 6. Consults with equipment technicians and other adaptive equipment dealers as needed. 7. Performs all other duties pertaining to the position. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises OT Assistants, students and observational volunteers in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training/in-servicing employees in work related functions. Bachelor's or Master's degree from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association, NYS license in Occupational Therapy, and 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
