About Us:
At Sensational Development, we believe that every child has unique potential. We are dedicated to helping kids conquer their challenges, discover their strengths, and most importantly, have fun while doing it! We're a team of passionate therapists who love making a difference in the lives of children and their families, and we need a creative, energetic Occupational Therapist to join our family!
What You'll Do:
As an OT with Sensational Development, you'll be a superhero in disguise, helping kids develop the skills they need to thrive in everyday activities. You'll get to: Work your magic: Provide individualized therapy sessions to children with a range of needs, from fine motor challenges to sensory processing difficulties.
Build a bond:
Create trust and rapport with young clients (and their families) while making therapy feel like playtime.
Develop creative solutions:
Design fun, engaging activities that help kids develop essential life skills (think obstacle courses, arts and crafts, and maybe a little glitter here and there). Collaborate with a team of awesome professionals: Work with physical therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists to ensure each child's therapy plan is tailored to their needs.
Keep the fun factor high:
Plan and document progress while incorporating humor, play, and joy into every session.
Celebrate victories:
Celebrate every milestone, no matter how small, because each one is a big win!
What We're Looking For:
A passion for kids: You love working with children and have a genuine desire to make a positive impact in their lives.
Creativity is key:
You can turn a challenge into a game, a task into an adventure, and you thrive in finding innovative solutions to help kids succeed.
Strong communication skills:
You'll need to talk to kids, parents, and your team. And a little bit of superhero language doesn't hurt!
Licensed and ready to roll:
You hold a current OT license in NY and have experience working in pediatrics.
A sense of humor:
You get it—kids are quirky and funny, and you know how to roll with it. Why Join Us? We're all about balance: Work with amazing kiddos during the day, and enjoy a healthy work-life balance with flexible scheduling options. We know how to have fun: From team celebrations to kids' therapy games, we keep things light, enjoyable, and full of laughter.
Professional growth:
Access to continuing education opportunities, mentorship, and a team that supports your development.
Awesome perks:
Competitive salary, benefits, and plenty of room for growth and creativity in your role. Physical Demands of a pediatric OT include: Frequently required to swing, stand, walk, sit on the floor, and move between floor and standing positions throughout the day. Must be able to actively participate in therapy sessions that involve physical play, including climbing, swinging, crawling, jumping, and other gross motor activities common in sensory integration interventions. Regularly required to lift, carry, and reposition children and therapy equipment (e.g., therapy balls, weighted items, swings), often weighing up to 40-50 pounds. Must be able to kneel, crouch, and assume awkward positions to assist children with fine motor and sensory-motor activities. Requires sufficient mobility, strength, and stamina to ensure child safety in dynamic, physically engaging therapy sessions. Must possess adequate visual and auditory abilities to observe child behavior, respond to environmental cues, and document sessions. Regular use of hands and arms for fine motor facilitation, handwriting interventions, tool manipulation (e.g., scissors, theraputty), and computer-based documentation.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
