Pediatric Occupational Therapist Whitecap Search - 4.1 Morris Heights, NY Job Details $50 - $55 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Working with students with special education needs Occupational Therapy License Full Job Description We are seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide services in a non-profit preschool in Bronx, NY. We are open to new graduates and experience providers. The Occupational Therapist (OT) supports preschool-aged children (typically ages 3-5) by promoting functional independence, participation in daily routines, and readiness for learning. The OT collaborates closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to deliver developmentally appropriate, play-based services aligned with individualized goals.
Job Function:
Conduct occupational therapy screenings and evaluations for preschool-aged children Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy goals and treatment plans Provide direct and indirect OT services using developmentally appropriate, play-based approaches Support fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, self-care, and classroom participation Work collaboratively with teachers, special educators, speech therapists, psychologists, and administrators Consult with classroom staff to embed OT strategies into daily routines Participate in team meetings, IEP/IFSP reviews, and case conferences Communicate regularly with families regarding progress and strategies Maintain timely, accurate documentation in accordance with program, funding, and regulatory requirements Contribute to reports, progress notes, and required service documentation Ensure services align with early childhood education and special education standards
Job Requirements:
Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Current New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapist Experience or training in pediatric or early childhood settings Knowledge of child development and sensory integration principles Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Experience working in nonprofit, school-based, or early intervention settings Familiarity with IEPs, IFSPs, and preschool special education regulations Certification or training in sensory integration, feeding, or assistive technology Bilingual skills a plus
