Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity awaits an experienced Occupational Therapist with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Step into a key role supporting extended school year (ESY) and normal school year (NSY) services. The position offers both a consistent schedule and the chance to make a lasting impact by providing supervision and clinical support within a collaborative environment. Highly organized, motivated therapists eager to work with a dynamic OT team near Saugerties, NY will thrive in this role.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Active New York State OT license (OTR required) Prior experience in school-based, home health, or teletherapy settings Strong foundation in pediatric and school OT interventions Proven supervisory or leadership background, able to guide and mentor other OTs Flexibility to support both ESY (summer, part-time) and NSY (full-time, academic year) hours Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to adapt therapy approaches for both in-person and remote environments, as needed
Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students during ESY (15 hours/week, mornings) and NSY (37.5-40 hours/week) Supervise and support a tight-knit team of occupational therapists, fostering skill development and best practices Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEP goals Conduct thorough assessments, maintain documentation, and contribute to eligibility and progress determinations Participate in team meetings and engage with families regarding student progress Ensure compliant and ethical service delivery aligned with state and district guidelines This role provides the chance for renewal beyond the current term if performance standards are met.
