Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to enhance patients' functional independence across diverse settings. Whether working in inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or community-based environments, you will empower individuals of all ages—including pediatrics, geriatrics, and those with disabilities—to achieve their highest potential. Your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology will ensure comprehensive patient care and effective discharge planning. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through skilled intervention and case management. Duties Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and cognitive abilities to develop tailored treatment plans that address individual needs. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), promoting independence in tasks such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility. Implement therapeutic interventions for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with autism, and those recovering from acute care or ICU stays. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, discharge strategies, and post-acute care arrangements that optimize recovery outcomes. Provide education and training to patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment use, and safety measures at home or in clinical settings. Engage in case management activities to monitor progress, adjust treatment strategies as needed, and document patient responses accurately. Contribute to specialized programs such as occupational health initiatives or school-based therapy services to support early intervention and educational needs. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in occupational therapy practices and related fields like speech therapy. Experience Proven experience working as an Occupational Therapist across multiple settings including inpatient hospital units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and therapeutic techniques relevant to diverse patient populations. Prior experience assisting with ADLs and developing comprehensive care plans for individuals with disabilities or recovering from illness or injury. Familiarity with discharge planning processes and case management responsibilities to ensure seamless patient transitions between care settings. Experience working with special populations such as children with autism or developmental delays, geriatrics requiring mobility support, or patients in early intervention programs. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and social workers. Skilled nursing facility experience or post-acute care background is highly desirable. Knowledge of outpatient clinic operations or school-based therapy services is a plus.
