Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient-centered therapy, with expertise in assisting individuals across diverse settings such as acute care, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate patient needs, develop tailored care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to enhance functional independence and improve quality of life. Responsibilities Assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions. Develop comprehensive care plans that address individual goals and medical conditions. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility tasks. Support discharge planning by coordinating with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless transitions. Work with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities to promote functional skills. Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with medical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physiotherapists, educators, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes. Provide therapy in various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools for students with disabilities or special education needs, home health environments, skilled nursing facilities, and post-acute care facilities. Qualifications Valid licensure or registration as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience working in settings such as acute care hospitals, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or school environments. Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices. Experience supporting patients with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Familiarity with medical terminology and the use of electronic health records (EHR) management systems. Ability to develop individualized care plans aligned with evidence-based practice standards. Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. Prior experience assisting with ADLs, discharge planning, case management, and working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
