The Occupational Therapist at Tulsa Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare is a vital member of our rehabilitation team. As an OT, you will assist in the practice of occupational therapy, working under the direction of a registered occupational therapist to help residents regain motor skills and improve their physical health. Assist in the practice of occupational therapy, implementing treatment plans established by the occupational therapist Practice only under the direction of a registered occupational therapist Implement occupational therapy treatment plans, including exercises, activities, and therapy sessions Record resident progress and request reexaminations as needed Offer suggestions, provide feedback, and voice constructive concerns in a collaborative manner with the occupational therapist Interview new and returning residents to determine their health and rate of recovery Document occupational therapy services and ensure accurate documentation for billing purposes Comply with facility policies and procedures for documenting resident services Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly rehabilitative and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident therapy progression Adhere to state practice guidelines and maintain positive relationships with residents, employees, and family membersRequired Qualifications:
Valid, unrestricted license in the therapy discipline in the state of OK Meet educational requirements of licensure Valid driver's license in the state of OK Knowledgeable of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines pertaining to long-term careAdditional Tasks:
Treat all residents with dignity and respect, promoting and protecting their rights Establish a culture of compliance, adhering to all facility policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality of protected health information Report noncompliance, retaliation, or discrimination to HR or compliance officer Participate in all life safety and emergency drills and trainingsPersonal Skills and Traits Desired:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family members, and colleagues Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when neededPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to move intermittently throughout the facility Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and/or conditions Compliance as aCondition of Employment and Performance Appraisal:
