Salary:
2026-2027 schedule: $53,683.89-$99,647.38 DOE + $8,589.42 stipend

Position:
Klamath Falls City Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Occupational Therapist to support students in accessing their educational programs and achieving success in the school environment. The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluations, direct and consultative therapy services, IEP development, staff training, and Medicaid billing documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.
This position works closely with special education staff, teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective interventions that support student participation, independence, and educational progress.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations for students referred for special education services
Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports
Develop individualized occupational therapy goals and service recommendations
Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Write and maintain compliant IEP documentation related to occupational therapy services
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students
Develop therapy routines, accommodations, and intervention strategies for implementation within educational settings
Train and support teachers, instructional assistants, and other staff in implementing therapy techniques and student supports
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate service documentation
Complete Medicaid billing and required service logs in accordance with district and state guidelines
Maintain compliance with IDEA, Section 504, Medicaid, and state special education regulations
Collaborate with families and community providers as appropriate
Manage therapy materials, equipment, and assistive tools
Attend required district trainings and professional development activities
Perform job related tasks as designated by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Oregon (or ability to obtain)
Experience working in school settings preferred
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and educational eligibility criteria
Understanding of sensory processing, fine motor development, adaptive skills, and school-based interventions
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Strong written communication and organizational skills
Experience with Medicaid billing procedures preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move throughout school buildings and classrooms
Ability to lift and position therapy equipment and materials as needed
Ability to perform physical assistance tasks with students when appropriate
