Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist across several districts in Greene and Washington Counties. This full-time role offers the chance to champion student independence and safety, while working with a varied caseload. As an essential partner in the education process, you'll collaborate closely with teachers and staff, impacting students' daily lives as they navigate their learning environments.
Key Qualifications:
Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist license required Experience working in school settings or with K-12 students preferred Comfortable traveling between multiple district sites within Greene County and Washington County Excellent communication and collaboration skills Strong organizational abilities to manage documentation and schedules across sites Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in dynamic situations
Responsibilities:
Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction for K-12 students to promote independence and safe travel skills Assess student abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals Collaborate with educational teams and families to support student progress Travel between schools to deliver services across multiple districts Maintain accurate records and progress reports Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute O&M expertise Offer recommendations for adaptive equipment and environment modifications as needed This role runs through mid-June 2026, making it ideal for those passionate about empowering students and seeking a contract opportunity that blends travel with meaningful, hands-on work in educational settings.
