Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing occupational therapy services in supportive school environments near Lansdale, PA. This contract opportunity involves assignments at two educational sites, working with students who need Emotional Support and Autistic Support across a range of grade levels. You'll collaborate closely with special education teams and tailor interventions to each student's needs. At Audubon Day Academy (grades 4-8), you'll work with a small caseload—providing direct weekly support to one student and monthly consultative services for another. At Mapleton School (grades 1-9), the caseload is slightly larger, involving both direct and consultative occupational therapy for students requiring emotional support, with session frequency varying based on individual recommendations, and some students having requirements for compensatory services.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Pennsylvania School-based OT experience or strong interest in school settings Able to adapt interventions for students with emotional and/or autism spectrum support needs Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and family consultation Organizational skills for case documentation and varied schedules Open to new graduates (must be independent—no supervision provided)Primary Responsibilities:
Evaluate students and develop individualized treatment plans Provide direct OT services and consult as indicated by student IEPs Monitor and document student progress in compliance with school and state requirements Participate in team meetings and collaborate with educators, related service staff, and families Adjust intervention frequency (e.g., weekly 1x30 or 2x30 direct sessions as recommended) Address compensatory therapy services as directed Embrace flexible scheduling, working approximately six-hour school days, with total days per week to be determined based on assignments.
