Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting. This contract position focuses on providing essential services to MDS transition students at one school site near Norristown, PA, with a commitment of 4.5 hours per week. Both experienced therapists and those new to school settings are encouraged to bring their dedication and skills, starting ASAP through the end of the school year.
Qualifications & Desired Background:
Valid Pennsylvania licensure or certification as an OT or COTA Previous experience in a school setting (preferred, not required) Ability to work independently and communicate well with educators, students, and families Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a flexible caseload Familiarity or willingness to learn transition-focused therapy strategies for MDS students
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services as outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Assess and document progress for MDS transition students in collaboration with school staff Participate in team meetings and coordinate with special education professionals to develop strategies that enhance student independence Support students as they build practical life and transition skills within the school environment Maintain accurate records and ensure timely reporting Adapt interventions and approaches to best suit student needs and learning styles
