Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and possess the skills necessary to assist individuals in achieving their maximum potential in daily living activities. This role involves working with diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities, in various settings such as outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine patients' needs and develop individualized care plans. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to enhance their independence and quality of life. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective discharge planning and case management. Provide therapy services for individuals with autism, ensuring tailored interventions that promote functional outcomes. Implement early intervention strategies for children and support their developmental needs. Deliver care in acute care settings, including ICU, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery. Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to inform treatment decisions. Engage in patient education regarding therapeutic techniques and home exercises. Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Texas Pediatric experience preferred (but not required) Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Passion for holistic, client-centered care
