Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering occupational therapy services to elementary school students in the Hartsville and Darlington areas. This engaging assignment allows you to support diverse learners, collaborate with dedicated educators, and make a measurable difference in the lives of children as they achieve their IEP goals! You'll manage a caseload of 50-60 students (including some consult-only) primarily in elementary settings—potential sites in Hartsville include Southside Early Childhood Center, Carolina Elementary, and Thornwell Elementary. The allocation of specific sites and students will be determined ahead of the school year to best match your strengths and interests.
Desired background and competencies:
Current licensure or eligibility as an Occupational Therapist in the state Previous school-based OT experience highly preferred Familiarity with IEP development, Medicaid billing documentation, and progress monitoring Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, families, and school staff Ability to manage a caseload and organize records efficiently Compassion, creativity, and a commitment to fostering student independence Key responsibilities: Deliver OT interventions and consultative services as prescribed in students' IEPs Participate in IEP meetings and team collaborations, providing expertise on student needs Complete all required documentation, including present levels, development of OT goals, progress reports, and Medicaid billing paperwork Adapt therapy plans to individual student profiles and monitor progress toward goals Experience the fulfillment of helping young learners reach their fullest potential while enjoying the variety and flexibility of a contract assignment.
