Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team! Evaluates patients and develops occupational therapy treatment programs in collaboration with the physician to provide occupational therapy treatments to patients. Administers complex active and passive therapeutic exercise, ADL retraining, and various cognitive techniques. Instructs, motivates and assists patients in learning and improving activities of daily living. Supervises and directs the efforts of the Occupational Therapy Assistant, if one is assigned.
Responsibilities:
Manages the establishment, ongoing evaluation, and implementation of treatment programs, plans of care, goals and discharge plans related to Occupational Therapy needs in conjunction with the physician, making revisions when necessary Oversees direct patient care services to ensure the effectiveness of Occupational Therapy programs, through heat, light, water, and electrically based treatments/modalities (i.e., ultrasound, infra-red lamp, muscle stimulation, traction, hot and cold packs, paraffin baths, whirlpool, diathermy, etc.) to stimulate muscle/nerve function and/or for pain management Ensures the management of plans, treatments, and travel times for maximum efficiency Monitors and controls all required documentation, ensuring records are written the day of service, reflecting patient's current condition Ensures all assistants are providing professional manner satisfying professional ethics, patient rights, and State and Federal codes and regulations. Facilitates effective communication amongst other clinicians, assistants, and fellow staff providing care to the patient. Manages the Occupational Therapy program with other appropriate health care providers/ disciplines providing services to the patient. Supervises interdisciplinary patient care conferences as applicable and maintains ongoing communication with all disciplines involved in the patient Plan of Care Demonstrates a clear understanding of theMission, Purpose, and Philosophy Qualifications:
