Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist covering a 12-week leave of absence at the beginning of the 26/27 school year. This full-time role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled OT who is passionate about making a positive impact in students' educational journeys. You'll work alongside experienced educators and clinicians, offering support and enhancing students' ability to participate fully in classroom activities.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid occupational therapy license in Texas Previous experience as a school-based OT is highly preferred Proficient with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong understanding of sensory processing, fine/gross motor interventions, and adaptive technology Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to manage scheduling and documentation efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services to students ages PreK-12 as outlined in IEPs Conduct assessments, write reports, and contribute to eligibility determinations Develop and implement intervention strategies to help students succeed academically and socially Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to support the learning environment Monitor student progress, adjust plans as needed, and participate in team meetings Maintain thorough records, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations
